English 043 is designed to introduce students to the forms, techniques and history of drama as a literary genre. Students survey the development of drama from the origins in ancient Greece to the present time. The course involves intensive practice in critical reading and thinking. Students read and analyze works from a number of centuries and from continental as well as British and American authors. Students also view, analyze, and discuss videotaped and local productions.
