Orbital Decomposition is symbolic dynamics routine for determining patterns in nominally coded (categorical states) time series data. The standard routine computes the optimal pattern length and the set of resulting patterns, topological and Shannon entropy, Lyapunov dimensions, and statistics for goodness of fit.
Version 2.4 now allows you to decipher patterns from multiple categorical variables and compute Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy. The program is available in PC and MAC formats. There are three test data sets available in the dowlnloads section.
