March 31-April 1, 2017:  I organized a conference (in conjunction with the Loyola-Marquette Phenomenology Research Group), sponsored by the American Friends of Humboldt Foundation, entitled "Current Debates in Phenomenology and Overcoming the Continental-Analytic Divide."  Speakers were:  James Dodd (New School), Paul Livingston (New Mexico), and myself, in conjunction with graduate students from Loyola and Marquette working on theses in phenomenology.

April 12-14, 2017:  There was an author-meets-critics session on my latest book at APA Pacific in Seattle.  Respondents:  Samantha Matherne (UC Santa Cruz), Anne Pollok (U of South Carolina) and Gregory Moynahan (Bard College).

New Book (2015):  I am happy to report that The Neo-Kantian Reader (Routledge) has finally appeared in print.  Thanks to all who were waiting for this Reader for their patience!

New Book (2015):  My monograph The Space of Culture.  Towards a Neo-Kantian Philosophy of Culture Following the Marburg School of Neo-Kantianism (Cohen, Natorp, and Cassirer), OUP, has appeared in the fall of 2015.  See here for a recent review.

 

During my time in Germany on my DAAD visiting professorship (September 2015 - July 2016), I gave talks in Cologne, Bochum, Paderborn (along with the co-organization of the Conference on Women Phenomenologists, together with Prof. Ruth Hagengruber), and Freiburg.

June 2015:  I attended the Northern American Society for Early Phenomenology in Mexico City June 3-6 and gave a seminar there on transcendental phenomenology, together with Antonio Zirión, on June 6 (in English).

On June 8, 20915, I gave a talk at Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México in Toluca, entitled "Fenomenología y Filosofía de la Cultura" (a revised and expanded version of the talk I gave last fall in Peru).

September 9-12, 2015:  I gave a talk at the bi-annual conference of the German Society for Phenomenological Research in Landau.  Topic "Phänomenologische Lebensweltwissenschaft und empirische Wissenschaften vom Leben - ein Abgleich."

October 12-15, 2015:  At the invitation of Nam-In Lee, I spent some time at the National University of South Korea in Seoul, together with Thomas Nenon (Memphis), and gave a number of talks and colloquia.

March 11-14, 2015:  International Conference on the Centenary of Wilhelm Windelband's Death (1915) at the University of Heidelberg.  

I gave a talk entitled "Windelbands Konzeption von Transzendentalphilosophie und ihr Bezug zur Kulturphilosophie."  Program here.

February 18-21, 2015: APA Central in St. Louis:  Together with Fabien Capeilleres and Stephen Lofts, I am organizing a session for the International Cassirer Society. 

I will be speaking on "Cohen's Idea of a Philosophy of Culture and the Question of the Human Subject."

Also at this meeting, in my capacity as "Research Ambassador" of the DAAD, I am organizing a session on "Contemporary Research in Germany."  The speakers from Germany are Ruth Hagengruber (Paderborn), Andreas Hüttemann (Cologne) and Anton Koch (Heidelberg).

June 18-21, 2014: Conference on the Philosophy of Ernst Cassirer took place at Marquette University. The Conference Proceedings is in the works and will appear in 2015.

September 29-October 2, 2014:  Biannual Conference of the German Society of Philosophy (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Philosophie) in Münster.  I gave a talk entitled "Die transzendentale Dimension der Kulturphilosophie."

November 5-8, 2014X. Jornadas Peruanas de Fenomenología y Hermenéutica in Lima.  I will give a talk, entitled "Fenomenología y Filosofia de la Cultura. Descripción y Normatividad."

New Book:  The Conference Proceedings of the conference I co-organized with Faustino Fabbianelli, Husserl und die klassische deutsche Philosophie (Husserl and Classical German Philosophy) have now appeared in the series Phaenomenologica
