Hypocritically Speaking

As the shock of the recent attacks on our nation by terrorists sets in causing the dull realization that terrorism is a very real and dangerous threat to Americans everywhere, we are left with the questions of how to respond and how to prevent this from happening again.  These questions have left many people (alive and dead) offering their opinion on how we should go forth as a nation.

ìThe fact that some people are refusing to rule this out as a domestic affair is utterly ridiculous.  No American, despite his or her resentment towards our nation, would reap this kind of havoc and senseless violence on innocent people.  We, as a nation, need to stop considering these improbable answers in order to unite and focus our search for the foreign enemy responsible for this atrocity.î

ìThere is no telling where these terrorists are or how they will strike next.  Therefore we cannot take any risk in assuming that they are not already within our nationís boundary.  I am not suggesting the determent camps used during Vietnam, but I cannot envision America as truly ìsafeî with thousands of potential terrorists freely roaming the streets.  My greatest fear is that one of these terrorist will be able to gain access to American military intelligence.î

ìI have met numerous times with my media consultants and I am fully confident that the terrorist attacks on New York, despite being the largest act of terrorism on American soil ever, will not overshadow my announcement to return to the National Basketball Association.  My first priority is to obtain the full and complete attention of the media and American public so I can do my part in keeping the aftermath of this awful tragedy from affecting the way Americans watch sports.î

ìBeing the first real threat to my generation, these acts of terrorism have made me feel a new sense of pride and understanding of what it means to be an American.  For this reason, when the true symbol of our nation fell into my possession, I displayed it proudly in my dorm room hoping to show Marquetteís community that I support the values, beliefs, and laws made by the leaders of this nation.î
