A Little Bit More About Me . . .

I was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Middletown New Jersey.  It's genuine, heart-of-Bruce-Springsteen-country, not-a-suburb-of-New-York-not-a-suburb-of-Philadelphia Jersey.  During summers and holidays I worked at Jack's Music in Red Bank New Jersey.  Watch Kevin Smith's movie Chasing Amy and you can catch a glimpse of Jack's Music and some of my former co-workers during the scene when they're talking in the music store.

I went to college at Villanova University, outside Philadelphia.  There I majored in English but spent most of my time involved with things like Villanova Student Musical Theatre and Amnesty International

I did my graduate work in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Wisconsin Madison.  There I had the great pleasure of working in the Writing Center and as Assistant Director of the Writing Across the Curriculum program.  Along the way I met my husband and did quite a bit of theater.

My husband David is a sociologist and a fabulous pianist and trumpet player.  We have two sons: Bradley, who is obsessed with dinosaurs and Harry Potter, and Zachary, who loves to play outside and make as big a mess as possible.

Check out the work of Viktor Schreckengost here.  He's a charming man and incredibly talented artist.  And he just so happens to be my step-father-in-law.
